Good things happen when two Native-owned entrepreneurial companies—both leaders in their respective industries—pool their talents and resources to support each other and promote economic development in Native America. That’s the nature of the business alliance between Native Threads and ACR Systems.

ACR Systems, Inc., is a family-owned data-logging technology company, based in Surrey, British Columbia. The company was founded by Albert Rock, in 1986, revolutionizing the way data is measured and collected to diagnose technical problems and validate systems. Rock’s daughter, Kristen heads the company’s Aboriginal Business Development department.

“ACR’s growing customer base continues to find a remarkable range of applications for our products. Our data loggers are self-powered pocket sized instruments that measure and record temperature, electrical current, relative humidity, pressure, process signals, pulse frequency and more,” says Kristen.

ACR Systems’ client list includes Nike, the Department of Defense, NASA, Boeing, Abbott Laboratories, and Budweiser. In addition to serving corporate America, ACR Systems’ technology is put to good use in Indian Country for a wide range of applications, such as health services, monitoring fisheries, and Indian Gaming.

In her Business Development efforts, Kristen attends technical trade shows, health and cultural conferences, and Native Community Outreach programs.

“As part of ACR’s alliance with Native Threads, I will be co-promoting Native Threads’ manufacturing and promotional services at every opportunity. In return, Native Threads will assist ACR Systems in establishing new contacts in Indian Gaming—a promising new vertical market for our data logging hardware and software.”

Prior to joining the management team at ACR Systems, Kristen toured the world as professional figure skater with Disney On Ice.
